You Have Questions
How much does it cost and do you accept insurance?
We are in network with many private insurances. Cost (copay/coinsurance) is based on your specific insurance policy.
We also give you the option to private pay without going through insurance for greater privacy, flexibility and choice. Rates range from $165 down to $65 per session depending on the therapist and the service provided.
What happens during the first appointment?
You will first speak with our care coordinator, Erin, to be matched with a therapist in our practice that might be a good fit. She will schedule your first appointment with that therapist.
The first appointment can be different depending on the need and age of the client. For those under 18 years old, the therapist will speak with the caregiver(s) only at the first appointment. This is a time for you to get to know the therapist and share your concerns. The therapist might ask questions about the child's development, school, relationships, strengths and concerns. You'll also discuss goals, and privacy and its limits.
For adults, this is a chance for you to get to know your therapist, discuss what is bringing you to therapy and explore what you hope to gain from the experience. Your therapist will help guide the conversation and you share at a pace that feels comfortable. You will also review confidentiality and its limits and schedule your ongoing appointments.
Are services available virtually?
It is our policy at Nurturing Nature Child and Family Therapy to offer virtual appointments for teens and adults. We have found that younger clients tend to have a difficult time building rapport and paying attention if virtual.
How are parents involved?
Typically, sessions are held with the client only. The therapist will schedule times to meet with caregivers when needed to go over goals and progress. Parenting skills are offered as a separate service to help with communication, emotional regulation and positive reinforcement.
What ages do you work with?
We work with children as young as 3 years old up to adults of all ages.
